For starters or side dishes, the Cold Dish 小菜 selections stand out, with options like the stir and stir beef tendon kelp dried bean curd combo, tender beef tendon, and flavorful fried bean curd. These small plates are perfect for sharing and exploring the nuanced textures and tastes of Taiwan’s diverse ingredients.
To complement your meal, the smoothie lineup offers refreshingly tropical choices such as Kumquat Smoothie (金桔冰沙), Mango Passion Fruit Smoothie (芒果百香果冰沙), or a creamy Mango Peach Milkshake (芒果水蜜桃奶昔). The cool, sweet drinks provide a perfect palate cleanser with their vibrant fruity notes.
Finish your dining experience with a delicate burst of sweetness from their Wine Stuffed Dumplings (酒酿汤圆), served in both small and large portions. These traditionally inspired desserts offer a soft, warm, and subtly fermented flavor that lingers pleasantly on the palate.

Many praise Java Cafe for its fresh ingredients and traditional flavors, with one customer highlighting the “tender beef noodle soup” and “classic braised pork over rice” as some of the best they’ve found in California. Others appreciate the straightforward, down-to-earth vibe and the faithful representation of Taiwanese cuisine, even if some flavors “shy off the original” just slightly, reflecting a kitchen balancing authentic taste with local palate nuances.

Flavor and potion size is good. Service is okay and aisle is a bit narrow. A bit pricy compare to other Taiwanese restaurants.
Wow, I just discovered authentic Taiwanese cuisine, and I can’t believe I’ve never tried it before! The freshness of the ingredients used is truly amazing. I’ll definitely be back soon to try more!
This Taiwanese diner has a down-to-earth and casual interior. The menu contains all the classics and plenty of southern Chinese homestyle dishes. The food is fresh, delicious, and as far as I can tell, very authentic. The clear broth beef noodle soup is tender and highlights the natural flavor of the meat. Braised pork over rice is a classic, and this is as good as any I’ve found in California. Finally the stir-fried celery with bean curd, squid, and pork has a beautiful simplicity to it and is rich without being heavy or overly oily.
No frills, not fancy, but overall good food near Spa Hyu in City of Industry. Came here after the spa … craving the Dragon Whisker (Dragon Beard) vegetable, a newly discovered favorite I can’t get enough of! I originally discovered Dragon Whisker veggie at Eat Joy Food and had to come to compare the two. Same ingredients just different because it is served as a hot dish here, while served as a cold dish at Eat Joy Food. While Java Cafe offer greater value, I prefer the cold version… it just had better texture. However the star of our lunch was the bamboo shoots, YUM!!! The beef rolls were okay, we felt the wrap was too thick. Food and menu photos added for your convenience below.
One of the more authentic Taiwanese restaurant. A lot of name on the menu are very similar to the Taiwanese type of cuisine. But the flavor is just shy off the original Taiwanese cuisine flavor. Dear fry stinky tofu is a must try.
Amazing authentic Taiwanese food options with sweet Asian aunties. Got Taiwanese sausage, chicken, noodles and cabbage. Quiet, nice to talk. Got some heavenly chief specials. Huge recommendation for anyone interested in trying out authentic Taiwanese cooking options. Great sauce pairings with dishes. Will come back.
We visited the area and stopped by to try based on reviews and we were happy we did! Bottom line is we tasted ‘authentic feel’ we haven’t experienced anywhere else. We aren’t sure if it was the ingredients or the recipe, the taste put us back in local food we experienced in Taipei. Everything we had (pictured below) were excellent.
